FREE 24 hour Sugar Reset Challenge
About This Challenge
First things first: the disclaimer:
Important: This challenge involves significant dietary changes. If you have diabetes, prediabetes, hypoglycemia, or any other medical condition affecting blood sugar, you must consult your physician or a licensed healthcare provider before participating. This challenge is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. I, Michelle Asantewa Wellness assume no liability for injuries or health issues arising from participation without proper medical clearance.
🎯 Challenge Goal
- 🔥 Strict: No added sugar, honey, maple syrup, artificial sweeteners, or sugary drinks. Fruit limited to 1–2 servings/day.
- 🌿 Low Sugar: No desserts, sodas, or sweets. Up to 1 tsp of natural sweetener (honey, coconut sugar) allowed per day. Fruit allowed freely but mindfully.
🧠 Inspiration - A fasting method
Just as fasting teaches discipline, clarity, and spiritual alignment, reducing sugar breaks the cycle of impulsive eating, energy crashes, and emotional dependency. This is not deprivation—it is liberation.
Next: Preparation
Task: Clean out your 'naughty cupboard! (you know it's there!), fridge, and desk. Identify 5 “hidden sugar” items (e.g., ketchup, bread, protein bars). Replace or remove them. Take a before photo of your pantry and an after photo.
Share your photo in the community.
Two days before the 24 hour challenge: Craving Mastery & Substitutions
Task: Create a “craving toolkit” – list 5 non-food responses to cravings (e.g., 10 deep breaths, walk, call a friend, herbal tea, stretch). Decide how you'll use it.
Day of the challenge: Reminder of what you must do:
- 🔥 Strict: No added sugar, honey, maple syrup, artificial sweeteners, or sugary drinks. Fruit limited to 1–2 servings/day.
- 🌿 Low Sugar: No desserts, sodas, or sweets. Up to 1 tsp of natural sweetener (honey, coconut sugar) allowed per day. Fruit allowed freely but mindfully.
Major Task: Try to navigate one social or stressful situation without sugar. Example: decline dessert at a gathering or manage a tough day with no sugar reward. Write a short “victory note” about it... and tell the group!
Journal Prompt: Where do you use sugar to numb, celebrate, or cope?
Task: Plan your “sweet life” going forward. Write 3 sugar boundaries you will keep after the challenge (e.g., “No sugar before noon,” “Sweets only on weekends,” “No sugary drinks”).
